Energy Boosters and Zappers

In order to have a steady good supply of energy, we need several things to be in balance. Do a self-test to see what may be throwing you off!

Check Your Energy Levels:

  • What you are eating?
  • What you are drinking?
  • How much sleep you are getting?
  • Is your daily exercise/activity level healthy?
  • How relationships and interactions with people. Are they positive?

Food and Drink Energy Zappers:

  • Caffeine, especially coffee
  • Alcohol, especially late at night
  • Heavily processed foods such as anything with a long list of ingredients
  • Sugary foods/candy/sugary drinks
  • High carb/low nutrient foods such as bread, pancakes, cereals, crackers
  • Heavy foods that don't digest well such as meat, fried foods, cheesy foods

Other Energy Zappers in our lives:

  • Negative people
  • Stressful activities
  • Hormonal imbalance
  • Poor quality or not enough sleep
  • Sitting in one position for more than an hour or two

Quick Pick-me-ups (besides coffee):

  • Green Tea (metabolizes differently than coffee)
  • Cold club soda with lime
  • One square of dark chocolate
  • Smell or use an energizing essential oil (such as grapefruit)
  • Cool bath or shower
  • 10 minute walk outside
  • Liquid B Vitamins (recommended dose on bottle)
  • Upbeat music
